Breaking the Silence

A weekend workshop for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

??????? ????????

Breaking the Silence is a workshop for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. In my view, there are not enough spaces for survivors to come together and to be able to share their experiences with others that have had similar experiences and to be given space and time for shared healing.

I also believe strongly in the transformational power of healing through group work. For many survivors silence and secrecy are an intrinsic part of their story. In this silence, shame can grow and by holding onto the silence we carry a heightened sense of responsibility for our story, making it hard to heal.

The weekend offers participants with an opportunity to connect with fellow survivors and to themselves. Through visualisation, artwork and creative writing participants have the opportunity to give expression to their story and that of their inner child.

The workshop offers a safe, intimate and held space, where survivors can through creative expression have their voices – and the voices of their inner children – heard and witnessed.

Participants need to be over 18 years old and be in therapy or have recent experience of therapy.

The workshop is run over two days from 10.00am – 5.00pm in both Bristol and London.
